Park Meeting 5/7/19
-Ignacio Catral ran the meeting.
General Concerns:
-Band shell roof has metal falling off of it.
-Tennis court nets are up, the lights have not been fixed.
-Signage missing.
Easter Egg Hunt:
-Numbers were down the year.
-We were under budget.
-Communication about the event needs improvement.
-Improve sponsors and get more volunteers.
-Lions Club to meet in 2 weeks to discuss the easter breakfast.

-Food donation tripled and cash donations were up.
-Many people came late.
-Easter Bunny was helpful for giving directions…
-Toni to pay more for sponsorship?
-Mercy Hill Church has interest in being a sponsor of the event next year.
Ranger Books available:
-We need to decide where to make the books available and decide when/how to hand out patches.
-Books cost $1 but can be given out for free?
-Possible sponsorship opportunity for a business to offer a coupon or advertise in the book?
-Schools could be contacted for distribution.
Membership:
-4 members have auto-renew.
-15 new members from email campaign.
-26 active 66 inactive.
Lagoon:
-2 contractors contacted.
-Need to get target price to establish fund raising goals.
-Go fund me?
-Clean up for the planted areas scheduled for June.
-No additional plantings until fall.
-Cattail cut will be in existing cut areas for maintenance.
-KEI landscaping could do a controlled burn of the cattails.
100 for Humboldt:
-Estimated loss of 70-100 trees in last five years. 75-80 were in the last year.
-Mike is working with county forester. County will develop a catering schedule
-Next fundraiser will be May 22nd at 1840 Brewery at 5:30. They will donate $1 from each beer sold to the cause.
-June 19 will be the “Bring your Dog to the Bar Garden” fundraiser
-Possible chill on the hill fundraising event?
Bocce Event:
-August 10th
-Registration is open
-4 soft commitments so far.
-It is cheaper to register on our website.
-Nature conservancy and DNR will match up to 50%.-
-Mike has applied for a matching grant from the county.
Tree Day:
-October 9th.
-Need more booklets printed, Announcements to schools.
-Meeting with Weir Nature Center.
Corn Roast:
-August 6th.
-Need grillers!
-Iggy said he’d help.
-PicknSave may donte but not sure yet.
-set up is at 4 PM.
Bay View Bash:
-Bartending fundraiser should be considered.
Beer Garden:
-Not sure about the % of money going to the maintenance fund.
-Press release was sent out without HPF review.
-Count officials have been very quiet…
