Give a tree before Dec. 31 and enjoy a tax write-off!
Humboldt Park Friends’ 100 for Humboldt program is replacing trees that have been cut down in recent years because of disease, infestation, or weather damage. The goal is to plant 100 established hardwood trees throughout the 73-acre park in the next few years to replace those that have been removed.
Get Yours Today!
You can purchase a tree for $250 through Dec. 31 through the Humboldt Park Friends website (http://www.humboldtparkmilwaukee.org/100-for-humboldt/). Because Humboldt Park Friends is a nonprofit organization, all donations to 100 for Humboldt are tax-deductible! As an added bonus, the first 100 tree donors will receive a small three-dimensional topographical model of Humboldt Park with the GPS coordinates of their tree.
For those on a budget, donations of smaller amounts are welcome. This means anyone can contribute to the cost of a tree at a lesser amount and he or she will still get a tax deduction before the year’s end.
Make a Lasting Difference in Your Park
A number of families, individuals, and organizations have already generously donated, and we’ll be planting 12 River Birch this spring in wetter, low-lying areas like around the Lily Pond. Next fall, we hope to plant 20-25 hardwoods between Logan Ave. and the Lagoon and 25 trees or more per year after that.
Get in on the action! The more money we raise, the greater number of oak, maple, beech, and birch trees that can be planted to replace the tree canopy lost in the past several years.
Get Yours Today and Beat the 2021 Price Increase
Costs are greater than when we launched 100 for Humboldt, the trees cost about $250, but prices have increased, and we’re forced to raise the donation cost or plant fewer trees. Beginning in January, the cost per tree will increase to $300.
Purchase your tree for $250 through Dec. 31, the first 100 tree donors will receive a small 3D topographical model of Humboldt Park with the GPS coordinates of their tree.
